Maui is full of enjoyable activities for every kind of person… the laid-back lounger can choose from 81 gorgeous beaches, the adrenaline junky can hang glide around the Hana coastline, the explorer can hike through a volcanic crater 10,000 feet above sea level, and the water-inclined can surf, scuba, snorkel, free dive and snuba to their heart’s desire.
But as far as entertainment options, Maui is fairly limited. Sure, there are bars and restaurants, and the occasional band or musical artist stops in for an evening, but for those searching for a fun evening out with friends or a significant other, we suggest a new Maui concept – Island Art Party.
Located in Kihei’s Azeka Shopping Center, groups, couples and individuals are welcomed to an evening of painting, relaxed fun, adult beverages, music and socializing.
For under $60 per person, guests are given step-by-step instructions to recreate that evening’s chosen painting, which typically includes popular Maui-inspired designs, such as beaches, waterfalls, waves, palm trees, and island scenery.
Grab a cocktail from the bar, which serves an assortment of wine, beer, champagne, rum, vodka, tequila, sodas, and juices throughout the evening, along with complimentary popcorn.
An Island Art Party ‘Partista’, as they are called, encourages creativity and fun over form, so relax and enjoy yourself! Paintbrushes, paint, aprons, and a 16×20 canvas are provided for each guest, and at the end of the evening, you have a new painting to hang in your home or bring home as a memorable Maui souvenir.
This activity is perfect for date night, girl’s night out, a work outing, family get-together, or even if you’re looking to improve your paint skills without having to stock up on all the supplies yourself.
Guests 8 and over are welcome to attend daytime classes at 10am and 2pm, and guests 16 and over can attend the 7pm evening classes when accompanied by a parent. They also offer a great assortment of other Maui souvenirs, such as jewelry, artsy signs and postcards.
