After spending 3 incredible days at the Fairmont Kea Lani in Maui, I’m compelled to share my experience, which might just tip the scales for anyone considering a stay at this remarkable resort. From the perfect beachfront location to the impeccable service and facilities, every aspect of my visit was nothing short of spectacular.
Accommodation and Location
Having direct proximity to Polo Beach is a game changer. Being able to walk from our suite to the pools, restaurants, and beach all within a minute or 2 is awesome. Our kids lost their minds! We bounce back and forth between the beach and pools all day every day
Dining Experience
Dining at the Fairmont Kea Lani is excellent, most notably at Kō and Pilina.
Kō, the resort’s signature restaurant, offers a plantation-inspired menu that celebrates Maui’s sugarcane heritage with a modern twist. The dishes here have been developed over many years by a diverse group of local chefs. Each dish can be traced back to grandmother’s recipes and favorites from Maui’s past. The service was amazing (mahalo Christina!)
Pilina, the newest addition to the resort’s dining scene, quickly became my favorite spot to unwind in the evenings. This bar and lounge not only offers stunning ocean views but also an inviting atmosphere perfect for a quick stop for a drink and a roll. I swear the spicy tuna roll is the best I’ve had! And the cocktails could be considered just as much art as drink. The attention to detail in the presentation and the quality of the ingredients used made every visit to Pilina a memorable one.
Each morning, we made our way to the breakfast buffet at the Keal Lani Restaurant. Without doubt, this is the best buffet I’ve ever been to. Everything was delicious! They even delivered bloody Mary’s with just the right amount of spice.
Resort Amenities
We did cabanas twice: once at the top pool and once at the bottom (we have kids, so we didn’t get one at the Adult Pool.) Located by the pool bar at Ama, the first cabana offered a private slice of paradise, complete with personalized service with cold drinks and mac nuts. The second was closer to the action, since the kids wanted to be able to jump from their lounge chairs into the water to play. We loved both days. Regardless of the pool, we spent time in both each day via the connecting slide. I may have personally ran down that thing 500 times.
They have a pretty fantastic fitness center, with great views while working out. Unfortunately, I put the bulk of my time and effort into drinks at the pool…
Oh, The Staff!
The Fairmont Kea Lani excels not just in its physical offerings but in the warmth and professionalism of its staff. Throughout my stay, we were consistently impressed by the attentive service and genuine kindness of everyone I encountered. The resort’s commitment to creating a memorable guest experience is evident in every detail, from the well-maintained grounds to the thoughtful amenities and Hale kukuna activities designed to highlight the beauty and culture of Maui.
